BKK Gems was founded by the Rattanakul family — a dynasty of gem traders with roots stretching back three generations in Bangkok's legendary gem district. The “BKK” in our name is a tribute to those origins, a reminder of where our knowledge, our networks, and our passion for exceptional stones began.
Today, we operate from Dubai DMCC — the world's largest free trade zone for precious stones and metals — where legal certainty, international connectivity and a thriving community of gem professionals make it the ideal home for a business built on trust and provenance. From our offices here, we maintain direct relationships with miners, cooperatives and cutters in Sri Lanka, Burma, Colombia, Brazil, Mozambique and Tanzania.
Every stone that carries the BKK Gems name has been hand-selected by one of our in-house gemologists. We don't list stones we haven't personally evaluated. Our mission has always been the same: transparency and education. Buyers should know exactly what they're getting — the origin, the treatment history, the quality, and the fair market value. No mysteries. No surprises.
